The multi-year campaign to save the breeding grounds of the Gray Whales in San Ignacio Lagoon in Baja is a VICTORY!!!! On March 2, Ernest Zedillo, President of Mexico and the Mitsubishi Corporation announced cancellation of their joint project to construct the world's largest salt plant in this pristine area. Congratulations and thanks to all of you who got involved through this website, and to all the thousands of people and organizations around the world who rallied to save this unique habitat. This victory once again shows how important it is to fight for what you believe in – and to not give up until it is achieved!!!
