Greenpeace Foundation sues to protect dolphins in the Eastern Tropical Pacific
Lawsuit seeks to stop the "Dolphin Death Act" from being implemented.
On Feb 8, Greenpeace Foundation and other co-plaintiffs joined Defenders of Wildlife in filing a suit in the Court of International Trade in New York. The suit seeks to overturn the Interim Final Rules for implementation of the IDCPA (see " Dolphin Death Act in the "Dolphin Alert " section and the Presidents letter for more details.) At stake are the integrity of the "dolphin-safe" label and the lives of over FIVE THOUSAND dolphins per year - the quota set for the ETP tuna fishery by the US Administration.
